Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Veneto

The Valpolicella is the result of a blend composed of 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella.The “Ripasso” technique has been historically used in Valpolicella, and can be summarised as the refermentation of vines of the same vintage or previous vintages on the fermented marc of grapes dried to produce amarone. Brilliant with intense purple colour, the bouquet expresses its complexity by notes of red fruits and spicy cherries. Full bodied and harmonic, slight acidity could be enjoyed in the aftertaste, smoothed out velvetly by hints of cocoa and toasted coffee. It goes well with game, grilled meats and stews as well as very mature cheeses. Ideal for cocktails.

Barolo Cannubi Marchesi di Barolo DOCG 2005 14%

100%Nebbiolo he Cannubi grapes developed a structure and the makings of a vintage that typically requires a long maturation period. To shape this potential and transform it into elegance, the producer decided to age Cannubi 2005 slowly, in traditional, large-scale oak casks, then in stainless steel tanks where it amalgamated in the coolest part of our wine cellar. Red in colour with ruby reflections. The intense floral and spicy nose blends harmoniously with the woody aroma that enhances this already complex wine. The flavor is full, austere and elegant with abundant, fully expressed tannins that at the same time are soft and pleasant. Barolo Cannubi is well-matched with rich first courses, boiled or braised red meats and game. Ideal companion also for seasoned cheeses.

90% Piedirosso, 10% Sciascinoso The Villa dei Misteri project was born in 1996 when the Archaeological Superintendence of Pompeii invited Mastroberardino to reintroduce viticulture in the ancient town of Pompeii. The archaeological excavations, the botanical studies and the research on casts of vine roots and their supporting stakes (“captured” for ever by the great eruption of AD 79) Ruby red,complex, rich, persistent, with spicy hints of vanilla, cinnamon and toasted notes, hints of red fruits as cherry and plum, and mineral nuances. Enveloping, balanced, structured, of great texture. Perfectly structured with fine and elegant tannins. Cold meats and aged cheeses. First courses Pasta with meat sauces, mushrooms and truffles. Masseto 2006 Toscana 15%

The first wine produced and released from the Masseto vineyard was the 1986 vintage. It was simply called “Merlot“. The name of Masseto then appeared on the label with the 1987 vintage. Masseto is a wine of great and complex personality where its remarkable structure always combine with beautiful elegance. Naturally each vintage has its own identity and exemplifies, for the enjoyment of its aficionados, the stunning possibilities of interpretations which climate variations offer: noble opulence. The 2006 Masseto reflects the particular conditions of the vintage: ripeness, concentration and balance. The intense nose with ripe fruit and jam reflects the summer sun. On the palate it's powerful, rich, and opulent, with tightly woven, sweet, polished tannins balanced perfectly by acidity, which leads into a long finish marked by elegance and freshness.
